It is a very safe, gentle and effective manual therapy for releasing fascial restrictions that hold back your body. MFR requires gentle pressure sustained for 3 - 5 or more minutes. MFR utilizes techniques that are very different from other forms of manual therapy, such as Chiropractic, Airrosti, Rolfing or generalized Massage. We look at your whole body to help treat your symptoms. Many the time, your symptoms are caused by tension elsewhere in your body.
Myofascial Release also incorporates craniosacral therapy (CST) and off-body (energy work) therapy. I apply the above MFR principles, gentle pressure and waiting at the restriction, with any CST or off-body work I do. Off-body work is similar to Reiki, Healing Touch, or Therapeutic Touch.
Lotions and creams are not used in Myofascial Release. Please avoid lotions or creams before your session. This allows for the best ability to grip tight and restricted fascial tissue.
Myofascial Release compliments and enhances the benefits of any current treatment or therapy, or fitness program you already have.
